Job description

A role as a floor supervisor is your gateway to a management career in Sports Direct. You will be responsible to support the Assistant and Store manager managing a section or floor of the shop, leading and motivating the sales assistants to deliver a strong Customer service and deliver results.

A Floor Supervisor in Sports Direct can expect great training from day one, you would initially start a two week induction in store. For high performing Floor Supervisors we have the “home Grown” course that can help develop you into the best possible Supervisor you can be. The natural progression for a Floor Supervisor is to take on the role in a bigger store or the opportunity to take on an Assistant Manager or Footwear manager role.

I started with this company in July 2013 as a casual sales assistant at the Doncaster Wheatley store, I worked on the clothing department helping to merchandise the store. I came into the store striving to get noticed, as hearing about the opportunities available got me really interested.

Within a few months the management team saw potential in me and I secured a fulltime contract. A few months after that I was then given the opportunity to prove myself as a supervisor. This really challenged me but also helped develop my skills further!

My area manager wanted to continue to push me further up the management ladder as he saw my potential. He sent me to head office, where I took part in a 'home grown' course. The Home Grown course gave me a massive boost in knowledge on how to run a store, and gave me a massive boost in confidence about ability.

The next step for me is to become assistant manager in another store which I cannot wait to do! Future aspirations is to have my own store to manage, then even be an area manager and above!

About you

Working as a Floor Supervisor in Sports Direct is all about attention to detail, organisation and great customer service. You will be able to communicate to people of all level and build relationships across the entire store and some team leadership experience would be needed, and good team motivational skills would be important.

Working as a Floor Supervisor

As a Floor Supervisor you would be responsible for provide great customer service and informative product knowledge for your customers. It’s important that all procedures are followed and that you strive to achieve all targets across all areas. Getting your team to perform by leading by example and being hands on is key.
